Genèse d’un Repas

Exhibtion: 03.05.2025 – 21.06.2025

With Jack Davey, Alexis Deconinck, Koba De Meutter, Chris Hoeben, Elke Lente, Albert Mayr, Hannah Mevis, Magali Reus, Mostafa Saifi Rahmouni, and Nina-Joy Thielemans

Art and food have long criss-crossed into each other’s spaces –sometimes quietly, sometimes boldly. Though not traditionally seen as related, food and art commonly occupy the same environments, with food represented in art – or even as art – in the gallery, the kitchen, the home and restaurant.

Food as sustenance, food as part of the quotidian, food as something silly, sacred, soothing. Food as a thread to family, community, care. Food as a burden, as a chore, as the quiet demand we face each day in order to survive. Food as presence and absence. Food (in)security. Food deserts (or was it just desserts?) and food swamps.

Curated by Nadia Bijl, Pepa De Maesschalck and Kasper De Vos
Scenography by Kasper De Vos
Graphic design by Gerard Herman
