Yemo Park (°1990, Seoul, Korea, woont en werkt in Brussel) ontwikkelt in haar artistieke praktijk zelfredzame, vaak absurde fictieve bedrijfsconcepten. In plaats van te streven naar commercieel succes functioneren deze projecten als conceptuele kaders waarbinnen artistieke autonomie, arbeid, de menselijke conditie en de sociale dynamieken die het dagelijks leven vormgeven worden onderzocht. Met Wollamhsram zet Park deze benadering voort door Lichtekooi te transformeren tot een fictief huis van verering, gecentreerd rond het verlangen om ‘van tijd te genieten’. Aan de hand van fictie, materiële symboliek en moonshine worden kapitalistische ideeën over productiviteit, zelfbeheersing en uitgestelde bevrediging in vraag gesteld. In plaats van de overtuiging aan een vast object te koppelen, worden de bezoekers uitgenodigd om tijd te ervaren als gelaagd, collectief, queer, cyclisch, gesedimenteerd en open.

Rather than aiming for market success, these projects function as conceptual frameworks that explore artistic autonomy, labor, the human condition, and the social forces shaping everyday life. In Wollamhsram, Park extends this approach by transforming Lichtekooi into a fictional house of worship centered on the desire to “enjoy time”. Through fiction, material symbolism, and moonshine, the project opens a space for questioning capitalist notions of productivity, self-control, and deferred gratification. Rather than promoting devotion to a fixed object, it invites participants to experience time as layered, collective, queer, looping, sedimented, and open-ended.
